Girls with curls - Story N° 2: Flatlining

Nobody believed that my hair is curly .
In fact, it is somewhere between wavy and curly hair, with effeminate finish around . There is also a commitment to any style , well, George Clooney is a woman.

So for a long time, I worked hard , about an hour a day to maintain straight hair masque . I never put my iron in my checked luggage - a case of lost luggage can discover me . Even my boyfriend was surprised to find my curly hair in an eco- Mufasa ( ie no electricity ) vacation in Tulum, Mexico . "If you still love me after this, then it is serious," I said seriously.

For years I resisted chemical straightening . The truth is that I do not despise my ambiguous ties. They were cute when they were back in the variety of the spindle. But when I was in first grade, my father joked, " You look like Medusa !".

It was a comparison that I said every time I let my curly hair dry wild beach . To "presentable" results, had at least an hour with a diffuser and preferably a pair of hands.

After years of relying on a ponytail (university ) , hot rollers (secondary ) and grease barrel curling iron ( college ) , I asked my parents for a ceramic iron CHI expensive for my 21st birthday. The results were perfect. I never looked back.

But because of unpredictable weather conditions this year , many good curly hair days were unhappy in the first step out . I decided it was time for the next chapter of my life hairstory .

In Serge Normant at John Frieda in Manhattan, stylist Ty showed a picture of me that looks like a double broom over Jim Morrison circa 1966 . Ty suggested the average strength of the new treatment room fighting frizz formaldehyde (say that three times fast ).

For the next three days , I could not even wash my curly hair or pull it back in a clip, for fear of a fold. Then the moment of truth : the first shower . After my curly hair dries into a manageable relaxed wave. ( My hope , however , remains a rebel, said iron. ) My new "natural " has freed me from the bondage of my morning routine , if not perfectly polished.

So, as my closet , I'll settle for two looks : Adjusted for work, lost and without the weekend.
